At the end of the party, all the kids went trick or treating to a few nearby houses. Dylan was not sure of the whole thing and Daddy had to help him get the candy. (By the way, the monkey costume was from last year. I guess the penguin was only good for one party.)
But after a few houses, he was a pro! He and Frankie made quite the trick or treating pair!
We all went to a Halloween party at our friend's house and once again, Dylan refused to wear his costume at first. He also refused to have his picture taken!
Isn't Sadie a beautiful flower? She LOVED the party, smiling at everyone which of course, made them smile right back!
Here is Dylan at his Halloween party at preschool!! As you can see, the penguin costume is being held by Mommy off to the left....yes, there was a lot of refusing to wear the costume or play the games at first. But then he decided pumpkin bowling was fun. And cupcakes were great, too! Finally the costume went on for the costume parade! Wish I had a picture of that....if I can get him to put it on again I will take one! (assuming he will let me)
It was Sadie's first time at the beach but she spent the entire time covered up completely and hanging out with Auntie in her carrier. Sorry Sadie...I promise next year you can see the ocean!
Dylan and Daddy worked really hard on making these great pumpkins! The only problem was that we did it way too early and the carved one was long gone before Halloween!
Thank you for taking the cutest picture next to the mattress that sat in our living room for a week before we could get rid of it. He actually wanted me to take a picture of him climbing it. :)
On our way back from the air show, we stopped at Hearst Castle for a tour. It was beautiful and a great time! As you can see, Dylan is very 3. He only smiles for pictures when he wants to.
Last weekend we braved the 5 hour drive (that took almost 8 hours) to Salinas, CA, to see Uncle Ben fly in the air show. Seeing him fly was an amazing experience! Dylan was in awe and thrilled to be hanging out with his Uncle Ben!
Dylan was not in the mood at all to have his picture taken for the first day of preschool. But Mommy snapped this one as we were leaving, with much protesting afterward. Such a big boy going to preschool 3 mornings a week now! He adjusted better than I thought (no crying!) and loves it!
Getting ready to go in the morning can be quite a challenge for Dylan (cooperating in general can be a challenge) so Mommy created the morning train! Just follow the pictures and Dylan gets ready in no time! We were practicing getting out of the house on time for preschool. It worked!
We parked the boat right on the small beach, jumped out, and the fun began! Riding go-carts! That's Dylan in the blue hat but that's not Jared. It's our friend, Randy. Jared had to leave early to go to work that day. Bummer! Grandma and Dylan on the merry-go-round!
On Labor Day weekend, we went with our friends to Lake Arrowhead! Dylan loved hanging out with his friends, Tori and Dylan, and their families. Yes, there were 2 Dylans! Dylan rode on a boat for the first time!! He loved it! Daddy braved the cold water to swim with Dylan! Here's Sadie on the boat....peacefully sleeping in her bouncy.
Here's Sadie in another cute dress! She loves sitting up and seeing what's going on around her. By the way, we found out at her doctor's appointment this week that she is 10 lbs 11 oz and 23 inches. Seems big to me, but then I looked up what her brother weighed at 2 months- almost 13 lbs! I guess she really is my peanut! Petite and perfect!
At first Sadie was a little worried about being held by the big kids (I would be too), but then she decided it was OK. Thanks April for catching some playdate fun on film!
